The high heels design by Marieka Ratsma presents an innovation in fashion. The bio-mimicry platform shoes are the result of a unique collaboration between the Dutch fashion designer and the American architect, Kostika Samy. The idea for this high heels design was inspired from the skull of a bird. The sole shape the properties of light and highly differentiated bone structure inside the skull. Such a structure requires little substrate, allowing optimum efficiency, power and elegance are achieved. Biology (and nature as a whole) is the most important source of inspiration for the manufacture and design of these shoes with high heels.

High heels design combines innovation, biology and fashion

With views of the nature you can open eyes to amazing systems and ways of life. The nature can inspire us in the direction of innovative designs and successful cooperation. Also for the fashion, nature can be a great inspiration for the use of innovative materials and smart structures. The rapid development of the technology such as 3D printing can take us closer to nature.
