According to Labor Daily, biomimetic technology can improve the quality of life of stroke patients, micro-nanotechnology can overcome certain types of tumors, and medical robots will move from laboratory to clinic, which will become reality in the near future. Yesterday, the 2018 International Academic Forum of Medical Robot Research Institute of Shanghai Jiaotong University was held. Shanghai Jiaotong University is cooperating with affiliated hospitals and domestic and foreign cooperative institutes to develop individualized and intelligent surgical and rehabilitation robots for minimally invasive and precise medical treatment of major diseases such as tumors, cardiovascular diseases and stroke. Professor Yan Guozheng, School of Electronic Information and Electrical Engineering, Shanghai Jiaotong University, is developing a new medical equipment for accurate and non-invasive diagnosis of gastrointestinal diseases. By manipulating the movement, residence and radial expansion of the Micro-Bionic robot in the gastrointestinal tract in vitro, the pressure, temperature, pH value and image of the target area can be detected in real time and non-invasively, and the intelligent diagnosis of gastrointestinal diseases can be realized. Professor Yan said that the system could be applied to functional gastrointestinal disease examination, gastrointestinal ulcer, bleeding examination, gastrointestinal cancer examination, gastrointestinal biopsy, drug delivery mechanism delivery platform. The minimally invasive laryngeal surgery robot developed by Professor Dong Ban of the First People's Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiaotong University is suitable for many kinds of laryngeal surgery. It can perform precise biting, electrocoagulation, deep space suture and knotting, radio frequency and laser treatment with a variety of knives. It is understood that the project has been included in the national key research and development plan, supporting laryngoscope intraluminal self-evolution, dental implant surgery robot development and evaluation improvement research.

It is understood that this academic forum has set up three sub-forums: the clinical application and industrialization of medical robots, the progress and challenges of medical robots, and the frontier technology and development trend of medical robots. The participants discussed the challenges in clinical application, disciplinary coordination and cross-cutting, and industrial transformation.
